Visit the Kittery Maine Outlets to spend the day in therapy - retail and restaurant! In Kittery, you will find a wide range of outlet stores offering name brand clothing and footwear. There are also scores of other types of chain and specialty stores to explore. Interspersed among them, find shops selling uniquely New England products.

Sitting on the border of two beautiful northeastern states, Kittery is tucked between Portsmouth, New Hampshire and York, Maine. Nearby, there are a number of seaside and historic sites in town to visit. This post will highlight the many Kittery Maine outlets and eateries.
MAINE COAST TOURS & EXCURSIONS

WHERE ARE THE KITTERY MAINE OUTLETS
In a compact area, Kittery hosts some of the best shopping on the eastern seaboard. Located just off the Maine’s I-95 Interstate on Route 1 Coastal Highway, Kittery is within a short drive from New Hampshire’s Hampton Beach and the City of Portsmouth. On the Maine side it is within a one hour drive of York, Ogunquit, Wells, Kennebunk, and Old Orchard beaches, and the City of Portland.

Most of the outlet malls along the Rt. 1 strip are built in the New England style with small clusters of buildings nestled around landscaped parking lots. Parking is free and plentiful. The biggest concentration of stores is located within a one mile, 3 stop light area.

HOTELS NEAR THE OUTLETS AT KITTERY
The Kittery outlet malls are within a half hour drive of York, Maine and Portsmouth, New Hamsphire. Here are a few well-reviewed York and Portsmouth hotels:
York Harbor Inn - luxurious historic oceanfront hotel in York
Union Bluff Hotel & Meeting House - year round ocean front property on Short Sands Beach, York
The Sailmaker's House - small, independent inn in heart of Portsmouth
Hilton Garden Inn in Portsmouth Downtown - chain in the heart of downtown
KITTERY TRADING POST
One of the most fun stores to visit, the Kittery Trading Post, anchors the strip. The 3-story general store is dedicated to outfitting families for outdoor fun. The Trading Post carries quality, top-brand gear. There are departments dedicated to hunting, fishing, biking, boating, archery, and camping to name a few. Nestled between the canoes and taxidermy there are housewares, footwear, food, and travel displays.

OTHER STORES AT THE KITTERY OUTLET MALLS
Other stores along the avenue of outlet malls offer merchandise in women’s, men’s, and children’s apparel. There are home good and cooking shops as well as sporting goods, book, candle, and toy stores.
Interspersed between the stores you will find coffee shops and cafes, fast food restaurants, several sit- down restaurants, and seafood take-out shacks.

Just outside of the Kittery outlet mall strip there are more interesting shops to visit. Beyond the outlets the businesses tend to get smaller, and more family-owned. There are antique stores and farm stands. You will likely pass the When Pigs Fly Company Store and the Take Flight Aerial Adventure Park to scramble across.

Happy shopping, Laura and Randy
